Students get graded. So should the graders.
Coaching Report Card is the consumer-reporting desk of Lucky Cockroach, the student movement. We do one thing: publish what the documents say about India's coaching institutes, and help students recover fees they are owed.
Why this exists
A student has no way to check
A family in a small town decides to send their child to a coaching institute. They will spend one to three lakh rupees — often borrowed, often a year's savings. The only information available to them is the institute's own advertising: the photographs of toppers, the counts of selections, the hoardings at the railway station.
Regulators have now found, repeatedly and in writing, that those counts are not what they appear to be. In one order, of more than 119 successful candidates an institute advertised, only 3 had taken the expensive foundation course. In another, 674 of 682 advertised candidates had taken only a free mock interview. The family in the small town has no way to know this. The order is a PDF on a government website they will never see.
This site exists to put those documents where a student can find them, in a form they can read in thirty seconds — and to tell them what to do if they have already paid. As of February 2026, CCPA had imposed ₹1.24 crore in penalties on 29 coaching institutes. Almost no student knows that number. They should.
What we will not do
We will not publish a grade we cannot source. We will not let a complaint count move a score. We will not take money from an institute for any reason. And we will not refuse to print a reply from an institute we have criticised. Take any one of those away and this becomes just another opinion site.

The obvious objections
Q.Are you against coaching institutes?
No. Coaching fills a real gap, and plenty of institutes teach well. We are against taking lakhs of rupees from a student and then not delivering the course — and against advertising selections that were never yours. An institute with a clean record has nothing to fear from a site that only publishes documents.
Q.Why does an institute have a low score when it is very popular?
Popularity is not on the scorecard. Every point deducted here comes from a regulator’s order, the institute’s own published policy, or a documented failure to deliver. A large institute with several regulatory orders will score worse than a small one with none, and that is the intended behaviour.
Q.An institute I know is terrible is not listed. Why?
Because we found no public record we could cite. Absence from this site is not a clean bill of health — it usually just means nobody has documented it yet. File a report and, where we can verify it against a document, the institute gets a page.
Q.Do student complaints change the grade?
Never. Complaints filed here are published as counts, kept visibly separate from the public record, and excluded from the arithmetic. A count tells you how many people reported a problem. It does not tell you a regulator agreed, and we will not blur that line.
Q.I run one of these institutes and something here is wrong.

Q.Is this legal advice?
No. We are not lawyers and we do not represent students. We publish documented facts and point you to the official, free remedies — the National Consumer Helpline and the Consumer Commissions. The documents this site generates are starting drafts you should read, correct and take responsibility for before sending.
Q.Who pays for this?
Nobody advertises here and no institute pays to be listed, delisted, or re-graded. There is no paid removal and there never will be — the moment there is, every grade on the site becomes worthless.
