Coaching Report Card

The refund campaign

Get your coaching fees back.

We are not asking for anyone's resignation and we are not running a boycott. There is exactly one demand here: if an institute took your money and did not deliver the course, it must return the money for the part it did not deliver. Below is the free, official route to making that happen — and the documents you need, generated for you.

₹1.56 crore

already recovered for 600+ coaching students through helpline 1915

10 days

the refund deadline the national standard sets once you leave a course mid-way

₹0

what the helpline route costs you. It is free, and you do not need a lawyer

The route that actually works

Four steps. Start at the top.

Most students go straight to social media, which costs the institute nothing. This sequence costs you nothing either, and it creates a record the institute has to answer.

  1. 01

Send a written demand to the institute

    Today · Free

Before any authority will help you, there must be a written demand on record. Use the notice generated below. Send it by email and by registered post, and keep the postal receipt — that receipt is what proves you asked. Give them 15 days.

Attach your fee receipt, enrolment form, and any WhatsApp or email messages where classes were cancelled or a refund was promised. Screenshots are fine.

  2. 02

File at the National Consumer Helpline — 1915

    7–15 days · Free

This is the step most students skip, and it is the one that works most often. The helpline mediates directly with the company. It is free, available in 17 languages, and has already recovered ₹1.56 crore for more than 600 coaching students.

Call 1915, or file at consumerhelpline.gov.in, or WhatsApp +91-88000-01915. Use the complaint text generated below. Note your docket number — you need it for step 3.

  3. 03

Escalate to the District Consumer Commission

    3–12 months · Small fee

If mediation fails, file a consumer case on e-Jagriti. The District Commission hears claims where the amount paid is up to ₹50 lakh, which covers essentially every coaching fee. You do not need a lawyer to file, and the Commission can order the refund plus compensation.

The e-Daakhil portal was merged into e-Jagriti on 1 January 2025. File where you live or where the institute operates. Attach your notice, the postal receipt, and your helpline docket number.

    Report the advertising to CCPA

    Anytime · Free

If you enrolled because of selection claims that turned out to be misleading, that is a separate wrong. The Central Consumer Protection Authority has penalised institutes repeatedly for exactly this. Your complaint adds to the record even if your own refund is settled.

File through the same National Consumer Helpline channel and state clearly that you are reporting a misleading advertisement under the Guidelines for Prevention of Misleading Advertisement in Coaching Sector, 2024.

Where the legal weight actually comes from

These are national guidelines that states are asked to adopt; they are not by themselves a penal statute. The enforceable route for an individual student is the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 — deficiency in service and unfair trade practice — through the National Consumer Helpline and the Consumer Commissions. In practice this means: quote the Guidelines for Regulation of Coaching Centres, 2024 to show what the standard is, and rely on the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 for the remedy. The generated notice below does both.

File your complaint

Tell us what happened. We'll write the letters.

Fill this in once and you get two ready-to-send documents: a formal demand notice to the institute, and the complaint text for the National Consumer Helpline — both with the correct citations already in them. It works for any coaching institute in India, not only the ones graded on this site.

About your information

Your documents are generated in your browser and are yours. We record your report so this campaign can publish honest counts of how many students have complained about each institute, and so we can follow up with you. We never sell your data, and we never publish your name, phone number or email. Counts are published; identities are not.
